Hello-
My Compac 16' has a usable re tactable motor mount, but the block of wood I don't know what it is called that the motor actually mounts to is rotton and need's to be replaced. I would like to make a new one or purchase just that part. Any Idea's. Thanks
I just contacted Hutchins. They make so many replacement parts. They sent me a catalog with a price list. Awesome
Is your catelogue titled Com-Pac 16 Spare Parts List September 2006? If you have something different I would be interested in taking a look. cparrish(at)fafnir.net
Mike,
What your looking for can be found on this site:

Go to the bottom of the page and look for P/N 99057. It is the poly replacement motor pad that should bolt right onto the original mount. No more rot and costs 42.95 - what a deal!
If you like the looks of wood....
I measured the thickness of my old mount and purchased some exterior scrape plywood from our local Home Depot. Take a tape with you so you get the thickness right. Our Home Depot has a section for inexpensive small sections of plywood
Cut out the pieces and glue them togeather for desired thickness. The recess for the bolt heads can be cut with a spade bit and electric drill.
Sand and finish with several coats of varnish or cetol. I usually buy enough scrape wood to make a couple of them. They last a long time if they are kept varnished. You can probably make a couple for around $ 10.00.
The poly mounts are less maintenance and hold up for a long time. It's a personal preference thing.
I also redid my motor mount with plywood. I laminated the plywood together with resin, and coated it. I think it will last many years.
